Launch policies

Clear terms keep the room calm.

This page is the plain-English launch framework for deposits, cancellations, privacy, artist approvals, venue approvals, and public promotion. It should be reviewed before switching payments into live mode.

Deposits and payment

  • Prices are listed in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise.
  • A booking is not confirmed until the required deposit or full payment has been completed through the checkout.
  • The remaining balance, if any, is due by the date agreed in the booking confirmation or client agreement.
  • Extra travel, equipment, venue, licensing, overtime, or collaborator costs will be confirmed before they are added.

Cancellations and rescheduling

  • Reschedule requests are handled case by case, with as much notice as possible.
  • Private lessons can usually be rescheduled once with at least 24 hours notice, subject to availability.
  • For events, short-notice cancellations may mean the deposit is retained because the date, preparation, and availability have been held.
  • If the booked artist or Blackwing Circuit cannot provide the booked service because of illness, emergency, or an issue within our control, the client can choose a suitable reschedule, replacement arrangement, or refund.

Refund position

  • Refunds are assessed against the service booked, notice given, work already completed, and any non-recoverable third-party costs.
  • Nothing in these terms limits any rights a client has under Australian Consumer Law.
  • Where a refund is available, any payment processing costs will be handled in the way permitted by the payment provider and applicable law.
  • If a booking changes because of venue restrictions, weather, access issues, or client-side changes, the parties will agree the fairest practical fix before the booking date where possible.

Privacy and booking data

  • The site collects only the details needed to manage bookings, payments, calendar holds, artist or venue applications, and follow-up workflows.
  • Booking information may be shared with the relevant artist, venue, payment processor, calendar provider, and email provider when needed to deliver the service.
  • Personal information is not sold.
  • Clients, artists, and venues can request access, correction, or deletion of their information, subject to records that need to be retained for bookings, accounting, disputes, or legal obligations.

Artist and venue approval

  • Artist and venue applications are reviewed before anything is published publicly.
  • Applying does not guarantee roster access, venue listing, bookings, promotion, or a specific search position.
  • Profiles, packages, media, prices, payout details, and booking rules must be approved before launch.
  • Stripe Connect, contracts, insurance expectations, tax details, and cancellation terms must be resolved before other artists or venues are paid through the platform.

Public listings and promotion

  • Private bookings stay private by default.
  • Public gig listings, ticket links, venue names, client names, images, testimonials, and promotional assets require approval before publishing.
  • The post-booking promo package is optional and should only be used when the client, artist, and venue have agreed the booking can be promoted.
  • Testimonials may be edited for length or clarity, but not to change the meaning.

Before public launch

Final review notes

These policies are a strong working draft, not legal or accounting advice. Before taking live payments, confirm the cancellation wording, GST/tax position, business details, payment processor settings, and artist/venue agreements.
